ASSESSING FOREST INVENTORY IN DRENTHE
2018 -Â the Netherlands
In August HiView has conducted flight missions for several weeks mapping large nature reserves for our client Natuurmonumenten. The extensive area consisted out of three areas (Matingerveld, Dwingelderveld, Holtingerveld), which are located in the Dutch province of Drenthe. The total area extended to over 1200 hectares.

The goal of the mission was to map the different areas and create a classification map and digital elevation model of the area. These maps support our partner Borgman Beheer, who is in charge of the greenery maintenance of the three reserves.

HiView successfully conducted the flights and provided high-resolution imagery that supported the creation of setting up a forestry maintenance plan to effectively conserve the valuable nature in the province of Drenthe. The orthomosaic gave detailed information on the type and concentration of vegetation in the area.
